System Communication Ideas

This is a list of system communication methods that I've thought of over the years, along side commonly seen/recommended communication methods

(disclaimer: Some apps/websites listed here may not have an app counterpart for your device, this meaning, if an app is on the google play store, it may not be on the ios app store, and vice versa)

- Text Based Apps on Electronic Devices

I've seen many people suggest this method of using some sort of text based app on electronic devices to have a conversation, I've decided to list some apps below that people have found helpful!

1. Discord, while using Pluralkit on a private Discord server, or use an alt account and use discord dms

2. Antar. (Apple/IOS/App Store download link, Android/Google Play Store download link)

3. TwiNote. (Apple/IOS/App Store download link, Android/Google Play Store download link)

4. Google Docs, Google Sheets

5. Lighthouse

6. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

7. Notion

8. Default device note apps! (These don't require wifi, so they're very useful, but I'll still put them in this section)

9. Photomemo (App Store download link)

10. Creative Notes (App Store download link)

11. PhotoNote (App Store download link, Google Play Store download link)
12. private Tumblr Blog (link impending)

- Offline/Non-electronic Communication Methods

Generally these are all things that usually require just a pencil and paper (or pen :P), but are otherwise good to write something down in, but not all of these need that! And that leads into the very first method,

1. Talking to 'yourself' out loud

2. Leaving notes for important life things in places that are easily seen (maybe the fridge will have more than fun magnets on it now?) (including whiteboards and post-it notes)

3. Having a private journal! In the same leu, a system suggested an art notepad to draw things and leave notes

4. Having a code word to improve internal communication. (More explained below with the message that starts with *)

5. Picture cards (could include non-verbal headmates or headmates that can't speak english)

6. Stimming (courtesy of a system friend who said verbal stimming encourages their littles to stim back)

7. Getting a pack of communication cards for friends and repurpose them for system communication

8. Launching thoughts into the abyss (aka think it and see if you get a response, if that doesn't work you can try all of the above methods!)

9. Morse Code (for some people this may really work, but there's a lot of effort invovlved to learning, you could even try something *similar* to morse code!)

10. Writing on yourself (a system friend said that this method is their go-to)

* Code words: Another system we know struggled to tell the difference between daydreaming thoughts and headmates talking to them, so we suggested a code word system, this entails something along the lines of saying a colour or random (maybe not frequently used) words, it depends on how you'd want to implement this method but I personally suggested that they mix the words they chose into sentences! Ex. "Green. do you see this?" "Blue. I do", but again whatever works for you, works for you!
